About Us

SOHVI was founded July 2023 as a print-on-demand unisex brand; Only when an order is placed will the products be finalized exclusively for our customers. We work with a production printing partner directly in Germany, who also handles packing and shipping, delivering the products straight to the end customer. This approach ensures no overproduction and shorter shipping routes to EU countries.

Furthermore, SOHVI selects only high-quality products with a priority on sustainable textiles, including recycled and eco-friendly materials, particularly organic cotton. The certifications of SOHVI's partners demonstrate a commitment to minimizing waste and promoting a circular economy. Below is a list of these certifications.

How it all began

After years of dreaming, SOHVI was officially founded in July 2023 by me, Viola Schmitz (BA & MS Designer). I have always been passionate about clothes, changing them, and designing them. Yet, during my fashion design studies at university, you not only learn about the upsides but also about the downsides of fashion.

The fashion industry is one of the most harmful businesses for our beautiful planet. That being said, I always held back from creating my own brand that could worsen this situation by mass production or creating unwanted products.

However, months ago, I came across on-demand products. The core idea of SOHVI.

What means on-demand?

On-demand means that products are manufactured exclusively for one specific customer after they have placed an order.

THE BIGGEST BENEFIT: REDUCED WASTE

Producing clothing only when a customer purchases an item, minimizes overstock and excess inventory, resulting in a reduced environmental impact associated with fashion waste.

What about sustainability?

Of course, even when producing on-demand, there is more that can be done to help the environmental impact. For us, it was essential to start selling items only when we are 100% satisfied with their quality. We believe that only when customers LOVE their products, they are willing to keep them for a long time. That is exactly what the brand SOHVI is aiming for.

To achieve this, several months of research have gone into finding companies to partner with, ensuring not only quality but also sustainability.

Our Partner Production Standard

TEXTILE STANDARDS

Our partners prioritize sustainable materials, focusing on eco-friendly textiles, particularly organic cotton with certifications like GOTS, OCS, GRS, OEKO-TEX, PETA, and Textile Exchange. The emphasis on durable and recyclable textiles reflects a commitment to minimizing waste and promoting a circular economy, with a focus on non-toxic, sustainably produced materials that reduce energy consumption in the recycling process.

INK STANDARDS

The printing inks used in digital printing are: water based, free from animal ingredients, no risk to health, free from toxins, biodegradable, safe for toddlers and babies, and are multiple certified.

ETHICAL STANDARDS

Our partners embrace a people-centric approach, placing individuals at the core of their values. This commitment is evident in their engagement with Fair Wear Foundation initiatives, ensuring good working conditions, well-being, diversity, inclusion, and community impact. Comprehensive sustainability goals, including Nature Protection, Carbon Footprint, and Circularity, are reinforced through various certifications, highlighting a holistic commitment to ethical and environmentally conscious practices.

Our Design

SOHVI aims for a more minimalistic and unisex style, ensuring that all pieces can be easily combined and worn by anyone, whether you prefer a straight fit, regular fit, or oversized fit. You decide how you want to wear and style them, but we will do our best to provide you with pieces that you love and that last.

Production

You decide on how much gets produced. SOHVI does not produce in advance. You place an order, and only then does your order go into production. Therefore, please bear with us while we fulfill your order. 

We produce exclusively in Germany. The usual production time takes 4 days but can vary depending on the demand for orders. Once your products receive their final touch-up, they will be directly sent to you. The additional delivery times can be found here.
